Urban Transitions Alliance Webinar: Fostering inclusive and citizen-led climate change adaptation
Together with their local communities, how can cities best prepare for the changing climate, heat waves and stormwater events? To successfully implement climate adaptation measures across the city, awareness raising and the engagement of private property owners is of key interest. How are local governments reaching their residents with knowledge and incentivizing them to engage in future-proofing their cities? How can programs be designed in an inclusive way, taking into account different housing situations and financial realities while ensuring that all residents benefit from investments e.g. in green infrastructure? Featuring presentations from Katowice (Poland), Cincinnati (USA), Mannheim (Germany) and Glasgow (UK), the webinar will showcase examples from industrial legacy cities with a focus on discussing challenges and outcomes of these programs.
