Urban flood modeling in a changing climate

0

Pluvial flooding is one of the most challenging hazards posed by climate change in urban contexts. The most recent, cutting-edge literature suggests that the main difficulties lie in the scientific complexity of estimating the effects of climate change on the rainfall regime of small areas, on one hand, and in the technical complexity of modeling the transformation of rainfall into runoff within urban environments, on the other hand.

In the framework of the CMCC-REMHI strategic project URBAN-PRO, both topics were addressed in this webinar, providing suggestions, strategies and practical examples to move into the challenging world of urban flood modeling in a changing climate
