Potential of Peri-urban agriculture under changing climate
Peri-urban agriculture is a source of food security and climate resilience. It is a source of fresh food supply for urban populations. It reduces costs and emissions related to food transportation over long distances. A recent study on peri-urban agriculture in Dehradun, Panjim and Ahmedabad demonstrates the potential of peri-urban horticulture through detailed analysis on the impact of climate change on supply-demand of high volume, high value locally grown horticulture crops.
