Oregon’s new urban forester describes the promise and peril of trees in our cities
Brittany Oxford is the new community assistance forester with the Oregon Department of Forestry. She previously worked in Portland’s urban forestry program. While she says that urban trees are at risk due to the impacts of climate change, they’re also integral for neighborhoods trying to adapt to high temperatures.
