Kenya Railways has commenced construction of Phase 1 of the Nairobi Railway City which seeks to expand and decongest the city center. Kenya Railways Managing Director Phillip Mainga says the overall scope of early works of the first phase covers construction of a pedestrian footbridge across the Nairobi Railway Yard, the new Nairobi Central Railway station, and a public square.
