Mikael Colville Andersen: “The only way we're going to fight climate change is street by street”

At Tomorrow Mobility World Congress 2022, we had a chance to speak with Mikael Colville-Andersen, Urban Design Expert, after his hugely inspirational talk.

Mikael Colville-Andersen works with cities and governments around the world in coaching them toward becoming more bicycle friendly.

He advocates for the need to go back to the future and do things more effectively and pragmatically.

“The only way we’re going to fight climate change and climate collapse is street by street, city by city, neighborhood by neighborhood.

This is where we can make local-global change and mean something. They will still happen at these conferences, and some good things will come out of it.

The right people will make the right choices and we just have to take it all with a grain of salt and be realistic and understand that a lot of the work we need to do in cities is not tech-based but tech can help us, with our beautiful existing proven-to-work analog ideas.”
