Woodside Park is one of the oldest suburbs in the DC area and one of the most sought after in Silver Spring. It is located between Georgia Ave on the west, Spring St on the south, Colesville Rd on the east, and Dale Dr and Columbia Blvd on the north.
As its name implies, Woodside Park is park-like where the road follows the land rather than grids. It used to be known as Alton Farm, the home of Crosby Stuart Noyes, who owned the Washington Evening Star newspaper. When he died, the land was given to his children who sold it to a development company. The company divided the estate into one acre lots. These one acre and now half acre lots feature houses setback from the road.
