“I am proud to be a farmer!”
After having a work for 18 years as an engineer at PT Freeport Mc Moran Inc. Ventra Agusri have a big turn around to be a farmer, urban farmer to be exact. He sees a big opportunity in big cities like Surabaya to grew up farming business.
“Hydroponics is the key of the decline of land in Surabaya. This method is also a preparation for the ASEAN Free Trade Association (AFTA). If we don’t open our eyes today, then when? With this ergonomic system, we can restore our food security that has been missing since 20 years ago. ”

For him, a vegetable garden in the city area is a business opportunity that needs to be taken seriously. Sure enough, and with the help of his wife, Venta successfully established an interesting business chain through a development of vegetable gardens. The man who experts in earth metals and mining, managed to create a vegetable garden café. His café is meant for people of the city to enjoy the gardens with a variety of juices and food treats which raw materials derived from the vegetable garden itself. In addition to the garden, Venta also had other private businesses, two cafés at the heart of Surabaya’s shopping district.

Previously, this alumnus of Department of Civil Engineering ITS class of 1995 has had over 18 years of work experience in the construction and mining industries such as Freeport McMoran, which projects mostly based in Indonesia, Mongolia, DR Congo, Chili, and Mauritania.
