Yes, clearing forests for agriculture is driving 90% of global deforestation, but the resulting reduction in rainfall is negatively impacting crop yields in tropical regions, and remain with nothing to sell to generate an income. This leads peasant farmers to further cut down trees for Charcoal burning to somehow generate an income hence worsening the situation, No food situation will lead to poor health and the peasant farmer can’t afford healthcare because they have no money, the bigger poverty cycle, therefore, starts with climate change. There will be a time when those who use Charcoal in the urban centers will pay twice their rent for a bag o charcoal but also pay heavily for food because of poor yield in production areas due to the Change in Climate.
