The Government of the UK on 10 November announced a $100 million contribution to ADB for the Urban Resilience Trust Fund to help cities build resilience against climate change and disasters. This support builds on the successful implementation of the ongoing Urban Climate Change Resilience Trust Fund, which has supported about 60 projects in 70 cities benefiting about 2.8 million people in ADB’s DMCs. The UK Foreign Secretary’s Special Representative for Climate Change, Nick Bridge, and SDTC Chief Thematic Officer, Xiaohong Yang, gave opening remarks at the Scaling up Urban Resilience session co-organized with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
