Cooling the Schools | Education resource | Tree planting, urban heat and biodiversity

0

Greening Australia’s Cooling the Schools initiative works with schools to connect children with nature through free planting sessions, empowering them to create wildlife habitat, reduce urban heat and increase tree canopy cover in their schools.

This video resource has been developed as an education tool for teachers to give their students an overview of why it’s important to plant trees in schools, the urban heat island effect, and staying safe while planting. The video could also be used as a conversation starter.
