Groundwork and Hammersmith & Fulham Council are working together to demonstrate how retrofitting open spaces on housing estates can be a cost effective solution to improving the capital’s resilience to climate change. Responding to an increasing flood risk and rising temperatures, we’ve designed and implemented open space adaptation schemes on three housing estates, incorporating green roofs and integrated Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS).
