Climate Mitigation in India
As the climate crisis worsens, the need for climate mitigation is escalating. India is vulnerable to climate impacts; at the same time, it has been a comparatively low contributor to historical GHG emissions. It is also emerging as a leader in climate action by installing large amounts of renewable power capacity and advancing the adoption of electric vehicles.
Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has been working to understand what could be some viable low-carbon pathways of development for India. Detailed sectoral assessments by CSE has shown that solutions to decarbonise do exist for the country.
