China introduces Asia's first hydrogen-powered train for urban transportation
China has launched the first hydrogen-powered train in Asia meant for urban transportation.
On a single tank, it gets a range of 600 kilometers with a top speed of 160 kmph.
The train that has four cars was developed on the basis of the Fuxing high-speed platform.
It will have digital solutions such as GoA2 automation, component monitoring sensors, and 5G data transmission equipment.
The train is said to reduce Co2 emissions by 10 tons per year.
Earlier, Germany introduced the world’s first-ever hydrogen-powered passenger train fleet.
India is also considering making to make the hydrogen train indigenously in 2023.
