A Webinar | IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON URBAN HOME-BASED WORKERS IN SOUTH ASIA

0

Climate Change is global but its impacts are not equal. Some of the most vulnerable are those who have contributed the least to it. Home-based workers (HBWs) – one of the most invisible sectors of informal workers – are one such group left vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

There was a lack of proper evidence to substantiate the impact of climate change on home-based workers, hence a study: ‘Impact of Climate Change on Urban Home-based Workers in South Asia’ was carried out by Home Net South Asia (HNSA), in partnership with Mahila Housing Trust (MHT), Saathi – Nepal, and Coalition for the Urban Poor – Bangladesh (CUP). This study was supported by International Development Research Centre (IDRC).

A webinar to disseminate key findings, discuss possible strategies to mitigate impacts of climate change for Home Based Workers was scheduled on January 19,2022
